Cano Island Snorkeling

Caño Island biological reserve is a small protected area in the Pacific, approx. 15 km west of the Osa Peninsula. It is home to one of the most beautiful and diverse underwater landscapes in Costa Rica.

The tour begins around 7:30 am with a picturesque boat trip to the island (approx. 1 hour). Dolphins and sometimes even whales can often be spotted on the crossing. Our boat anchors in front of the island and we are provided with the appropriate snorkeling equipment. After a short briefing from the guide, we jump into the water! The pristine waters off the island generally offer extremely good visibility, so you can experience the vibrant underwater world in all its glory.

There are a total of two snorkeling stops of around 45 minutes each, where you can see lots of colourful fish and corals and possibly even rays, sea turtles or small reef sharks. Don't worry, the sharks are absolutely harmless. The guide is always available to answer your questions and tell you interesting facts about the marine ecosystem. Of course, he also joins you while snorkeling, pointing out all the hidden sea creatures.

Between snorkeling sessions, we relax on the beach. This idyllic spot is the only place on the island that can be entered and provides the perfect backdrop for a break before heading back into the water. After so many impressions, we take the boat back towards Drake Bay, where a delicious lunch is served on a nearby beach.

Important: There is a minimum of 4 participants for this tour. If you are traveling alone or with fewer people, we have to check availability first on the desired date. Please contact us by e-mail or chat and let us know the desired tour date and the number of people. We will then let you know immediately whether the tour is possible on the desired date or no.

• - 13% sales tax will be added upon booking
• - Minimum number of participants: 4 adults
• - Minimum age for children: 3 years
• - Children must be accompanied by an adult.
• - Child rate ($80) is for children 3-10 years old
• - The tour is bilingual in English and Spanish
• - Transportation from the hotel to the beach at Drake Bay (boat departure point) is not included.

Policies:

• - Cancellations or changes to the booking are possible until 17 days before departure. After that, the full booking price will be charged in any case.
• - If a participant does not appear at the agreed time at the agreed place, we can wait a maximum of 5 minutes. In case of non-appearance, the full booking price will be charged.
