Tree Planting & Agro-ecological Farm Tour

Our reforestation project "Bosque La Tigra" is located just 35 minutes from La Fortuna, near the Children's Eternal Rainforest, the largest private reserve en Central America. On the way we can marvel at the immense forested mountains that rise majestically in the background. One of the goals of the reforestation project is to create a corridor for the animals and plants to increase their habitat area.

Arriving at the project we will take a small path through the forest where our guide will give us all the important information about the project and its future prospects. Other information boards will give additional knowledge about different topics. Then we receive our little tree and go to the place where it will find its new home. We carefully place it and measure the GPS data so that we can always find it. For three years the tree will be cared for, then it must be strong enough to survive on its own. Feeling good, we recharge our batteries with a delicious snack of fresh fruit before continuing to our next adventure.

The Mendez family with their beautiful property and small agro-ecological farm is already waiting for us. Here we will learn more about the day to day life of a traditional Costa Rican family and explore their pepper, vanilla, yucca, banana and corn plantations.

At the end of the tour, we will enjoy a delicious lunch with organic ingredients from the farm, cooked on a wood-burning stove. Expect an authentic taste of a traditional Costa Rican meal.

• - Price is per person
• - 13% sales tax will be added upon booking
• - Minimum number of participants: 2 adults
• - Child rate ($58) is for children 5-11 years old, children 0-4 years old are allowed free of charge, child seats are available free of charge (subject to availability).
• - Children must be accompanied by an adult.
• - Vegetarian option available for lunch, please specify when making reservations.
• - The tour is bilingual in English and Spanish
• - Transportation from most hotels is included in the price. If your hotel is far from downtown La Fortuna or the road to the Arenal Volcano, additional pick-up costs may apply. Please inquire at the time of booking.
• - The departure times are approximate and we will send you the exact pickup time.

Policies:

• - Cancellations or changes to the booking are possible until 24 hours before departure. After that, the full booking price will be charged in any case.
• - If a participant does not appear at the agreed time at the agreed place, we can wait a maximum of 5 minutes. In case of non-appearance, the full booking price will be charged.
