Today you will arrive at La Tigra Rainforest Lodge, about one hour's drive south of La Fortuna. The last 2km of gravel road will set you up for the adventure. Here you will find no tourist crowds, but only a few rooms and pure nature. What has been achieved in this reforestation project? You will see and experience it!
Enjoy your welcome drink before you move into your unique room at this ecolodge in Costa Rica. The view from the balcony goes directly into the reforested rainforest. Hit the hammock or the pool and enjoy the time until dinner!
Either tonight or tomorrow you will also take part in a guided night hike. Here you will not only hear the frogs singing, but also get to see some of them. Especially the pretty red-eyed tree frog captivates all visitors.
Today you will learn about the neighboring reforestation project "Bosque La Tigra" and get the opportunity to plant your own rainforest tree. After a 30-minute hike through the reforested area, where already many animals can be seen, you will receive your seedling and plant it. The place is measured with GPS data, so that you can always find your little tree.
In the afternoon you will have time to explore the trails along the river, splash in the refreshing pool or optionally get an insight into Costa Rican cuisine. How to prepare tortillas or a typical snack? The cooks at La Tigra Lodge can teach you. Ask at the reception for more activities for the day.

Your last breakfast in La Tigra and it's time for another long walk. Which birds and other animals could you already discover? The local staff will be happy to tell you more about their own permaculture cultivation. Around noon you will continue to La Fortuna. After about an hour you will arrive at Casa Luna Hotel & Spa. Once checked in, you can follow the small path to the creek, maybe you can already hear the howler monkeys calling. You can spend the evening relaxing in one of the warm jacuzzis, take an optional night tour of the area, or stroll through the downtown area.
After having breakfast at Casa Luna. We will enjoy the Sloth observation tour where we are guaranteed to observe and know a lot about this beautiful animal in its natural habitat.
In the afternoon we will have the Visit to Arenal Volcano one of the most famous volcanoes in Costa Rica and right after the walk we will enjoy the relaxing hot springs of the arenal area. A full day of adventure and relaxation
La Fortuna is one of the most diverse areas and so you can hike at the volcano and in various nature reserves, stroll over suspension bridges, swim in waterfalls or "fly" over the rainforest while ZIplining. Water rats will enjoy rafting, tubing, kayaking or SUP tours. You can also book some day trips directly on our website - get inspired!
