The special thing about us

Costa Rica Insider is a joint project of the two partners Ecoterra from Costa Rica and travel-to-nature from Germany. Travel-to-nature has been offering trips to Costa Rica for 25 years and Ecoterra has been around almost as long. In order to meet the increased demand for individual travel the idea was born to create “Costa Rica Insider” and thus offer worldwide guests a comprehensive platform for individual travel through beautiful Costa Rica.

Many of our day trips can be canceled free of charge until shortly before departure. Ecoterra has liability insurance and an excellent reputation in Costa Rica. All Ecoterra buses are checked and maintained. We also have baby seats in stock. Safety is paramount in our selection of activities and we are on site to check them over.

Expertise

Costa Rica Insider knows its stuff. Our local partner agency Ecoterra organizes many of the activities themselves and knows their tours. The same is true for our modules which are subject to constant control by our local staff. Our consultants in Costa Rica are happy to design you a complete tailored trip according to your wishes and budget.

Sustainability

Travel-to-nature and Ecoterra are considered absolute pioneers in terms of sustainability in Costa Rica. In 1994 Paul Valenciano and Rainer Stoll were involved in the foundation of Ecocentro Danaus. Later they built together the La Tigra Rainforest Lodge which is one of the most sustainable lodges in the world, and the reforestation project “Reserva Bosque La Tigra” which made it to the finals for a German Sustainability Award. We are specialized in the protection of animal and plant species and have this scientifically accompanied by the university in Costa Rica.

Carolin

Carolin is from Germany, but has found her second home in Costa Rica. She leads the project and whenever possible she is on site to explore new travel destinations for you. As your German- and English-speaking contact person, she will be happy to share her insider knowledge with you.

Deiner

As a true Costa Rican and long-time tourism expert, Deiner knows his country like the back of his hand. He leads the local sales team and is responsible for quality management and customer satisfaction. He loves to spend his free time with his family.

Meybelline

Meybelline is our youngest team member. Although recently joined us, she has already proven herself with her quick comprehension and smart character. She will be more than happy to assist you with your travel planning.

Steven

Steven is responsible for the operation of our day tours and shuttle transfers. He loves exploring new destinations with his motorcycle and hitting the dance floor to Salsa music.

Guillermo

Guillermo has already worked in various areas of the company and therefore knows his way around very well. While he's very professional and doesn't lose sight for details, he also likes to joke around at work.

Kara

Born in Michigan, Kara lived in Costa Rica for several years working with three different regenerative farms and jungle yoga retreat hosts. She helps us with marketing and is your English-speaking contact person. Kara is also our "medicine woman". She loves plants and knows how to use them.
