Your tour to Corcovado National Park begins in the early morning with a boat ride along the beautiful coastline of the Osa Peninsula. Marine mammals thrive in the warm Pacific waters, so there’s a good chance you’ll encounter dolphins, turtles or (in some months) even whales along the way. The drive to San Pedrillo Station takes approximately 1.5 hours from Uvita and 45 minutes from Drake Bay. Day trips to Sirena Station are only offered from Drake Bay and the boat trip takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Since there is no jetty at the station, the boat stops at the beach and you wade a few meters through the warm, knee-deep water. Your guide will be happy to help you disembark. Please note that no plastic may be taken into the park. It is therefore important to take a refillable water bottle with you. It is also forbidden to take cigarettes into the park.
Corcovado National Park is in one of the most species-rich areas in the world. During your hike you will have the opportunity to discover various species of birds, all four species of monkeys native to Costa Rica, sloths, anteaters, peccaries and many more animals. The more than 500 tree species in the park are also remarkable and your guide will tell you lots of exciting things about the rainforest.

Tours depart from Drake Bay in the early morning at around 6:00am and from Uvita at around 6:30am.
It is a full day tour (8 hours approx.). The hike takes about 3-4 hours.
Normal physical fitness is sufficient. Note, however, that the humidity is very high and therefore even easy hikes can be strenuous.
The hike is not dangerous, but since you are in the rainforest, it is essential to follow certain rules. Always follow your guide’s instructions and never leave the paths. Snakes are found throughout Costa Rica, especially in the rivers and estuaries. There are also crocodiles and even sharks in Corcovado National Park. The biggest risk isn’t animals that you might unexpectedly encounter, but dehydration. So remember to take plenty of water with you (in a non-plastic refillable bottle).
The hike is usually bookable for children aged 3 and over. Please note, however, that the hike lasts 3-4 hours (including stops to observe the animals). Children who are not good walkers could therefore hold up the group. The high humidity could also be a problem for small children or older people.
The price ranges from 100-160 USD, depending on where the tour starts (e.g. Uvita or Drake Bay) and where it goes to (Sirena or San Pedrillo station). The tour must be reserved in advance.
