Experience an unforgettable day in Corcovado National Park, one of the most biodiverse areas in the world! The park is home to around 3% of the world's species and was therefore named the "most biologically intense place on earth" by National Geographic.
Here you can find all four of the monkey species that call Costa Rica home. You also have good chances of seeing Costa Rica's largest mammal, the tapir. Peccaries, coatis and sloths can also often be seen. Additionally there are around 400 species of birds and 116 species of amphibians and reptiles. The more than 500 tree species also contribute to the diversity and there is still plenty of primary rainforest to be found.
Your adventure begins early in the morning with a boat trip from Drake Bay to the park entrance. There are two different park entrances, so you can choose between the following two tours:
San Pedrillo Station:
The boat trip to San Pedrillo Station only takes about 30 minutes. Once on land you will set off with your guide (and other participants) on a 3-4 hour hike. There is still a lot of primary rainforest in this part of the national park. Your guide is equipped with a scope and will draw your attention to the various animals. Of course, he also has a lot to tell you about the flora. Back at the ranger station, you will have a light lunch and a short break before setting off on another 30-minute hike to a beautiful waterfall. Here everyone can refresh themselves and then start the return journey with renewed energy. Price: $100 per person
Sirena Station:
The boat trip to Sirena Station takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. There is a good chance of seeing dolphins, turtles or possibly even whales on the crossing. You then set off with your guide (and other participants) on a 4-hour hike. There will be many stops, as this part of the national park is particularly rich in wildlife. Your guide is equipped with a scope so that you can observe the animals up close. Maybe you are lucky and can even spot a Tapir. In this part of the park you have the highest chances to see one. At the end of the tour, there is a delicious lunch at the biological station before heading back to Drake Bay by boat. Price: $120 per person
Important: The park can only be entered with a guide and tickets are strictly limited. We therefore need to check availability first (it is not automatically displayed in the calendar). Please contact us by e-mail or chat with the desired tour date and number of people.
We will then let you know as soon as possible whether we can offer the tour on the desired date. The earlier you book, the better the chances!
