This is a very special transfer, as it combines a ride in a comfortable minibus with a boat trip through the water channels of Tortuguero. You will be picked up early in the morning from your hotel in Puerto Viejo or the surrounding beach towns and taken to Siquirres (approx. 2h driving time).
A delicious breakfast will be served here before you continue to the boat dock in La Pavona (approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes). There, you will board a motorized boat that will take you through Tortuguero’s extensive network of canals. The boat journey takes approximately one hour and offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the unique scenery along the way.
You will be dropped off at the central boat dock of the village (at Costa Rica Roots Tours). Since there are no cars in Tortuguero, you'll need to walk to your accommodation from there. The staff on site will help you with directions, and since the village is very small, the walk shouldn't be too long.
If your hotel is located outside the village and has its own private boat dock, drop-off there is also possible (see notes below).
Please note: The transfer to Siquirres may be shared with guests who have booked a rafting tour for the day. So don't be surprised if the guide provides information about rafting during the journey. 😉
